In response to activities organized during the “Month of Humanity”, SAIGON 9 Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company (SAIGON IX) recently joined the Lam Dong Red Cross Society and local authorities in Hiep Thanh Commune, Duc Trong District to organize a program providing livelihood support and social welfare gifts to families facing difficult circumstances.

The Need for SAIGON IX’s Livelihood Model in the Local Community

Following the success of its previous support initiatives, SAIGON IX continues to accompany the local community and expand its support for the “Black Pig Breeding” livelihood model. In Hiep Thanh Commune, this practical economic model provides local families with an opportunity to generate a sustainable source of income through their own labor and efforts.

As part of the program, the Organizing Committee handed over 50 breeding black pigs worth a total of VND 62.5 million, sponsored by SAIGON IX, to 13 families.

The black pig breed selected for this program is well adapted to the local climate and soil conditions. It has good resistance to disease and does not require complicated care procedures, making it particularly suitable for the current economic circumstances of local families facing financial difficulties.

On the same day, the Red Cross Society also distributed 100 additional packages of essential goods to other families in need in the area, bringing the total number of households supported throughout the program to 113. These welfare packages included essential daily necessities, helping ease some of the burden of everyday living for local residents.

Motivation from SAIGON IX’s Support

The timely and continued support from SAIGON IX brought great joy to local families while strengthening their confidence and providing strong motivation to move forward. Representatives of the beneficiary families expressed their appreciation and committed to caring for the breeding pigs properly and following appropriate husbandry techniques to develop their household livestock and stabilize their livelihoods as soon as possible. Directly receiving livelihood assets also helps families develop a stronger sense of responsibility toward their work and production.

Representatives of the Lam Dong Red Cross Society acknowledged and highly appreciated SAIGON IX’s active role in supporting local social welfare initiatives. The Organizing Committee emphasized that providing people with the “fishing rod” through practical livelihood models represents a sustainable approach to humanitarian support. It helps local residents develop a more proactive approach to economic development and work toward escaping poverty through their own efforts.
